1 – When the new 12 sided coin be in circulation?

The new coin will enter into UK circulation on 28 March 2017

2 – When is the last day we  are going to be able to spend round pounds?

You will stil be able to spend existing round pounds until 15 October 2017, In 2017 round pounds will be gradually removed from circulation

3 – What happens to 100s of millions round pounds in the circulation?

Pounds removed from circulation will be melted down at Royal Mint and will be used in making 12 sided coins.

4 – What is the new coin going to be like?

The design features a rose (England), a leek (Wales), a thistle (Scotland) and a shamrock (Ireland) – symbols associated with each of the four home nations.

5- Will there be an edge-inscription?

Yes, there will be, but contents of the inscription is currently unknown.

-What is a 12-sided shape called in geometry?

Dodecagon. Hence, why new pound coin is also called as Dodecagon coin (12-sided coin).
